Nice article on PTV view the article here

I bought a case of this 2 years ago for like $29. I am glad I have not opened any of them and even happier to hear thet are selling for $50.
If this wine is undrinkable now why did it get rated so high, Most wines these days are made to drink now. Did you pour it out? 2005 was so good, it’s drinking good now and will be good in 20 years.
Very few of us are serious collectors. I’m drinking the best wine in my rack asap.
Castle, with all do respect you are wrong. When any critic rates a wine they drink it extremely young, They still give high score because the have he ability to tell that it is a well made wine and will improve in the future. The will then re-taste years later and either raise or lower the score. Not all great wine drink great young especially in France. This specific review was not bad at all, I am sure when Chris used the term undrinkable he was using it in a way to emphasize that it will last for a long time.
i’m with castle. i like to drink wine now. not wait 25 years before it’s “good”
2009 is supposed to be just as good if you believe it!
You have to be careful with that generalization. There really hasn’t been a vintage worth buying with little regard for selection since the 2005 vintage. With the Euro topped out, they’re starting to suck wind in Europe. From what I understand, they’re tinkering with the classification system and a possible ‘prohibition like senerio.” Alot of favors are going to be passed out in the coming years.
This is all silly banter. 2005’s are great from bordeaux without a doubt, but we all know that the way they make their wines they do need to lay down for a few years before they will be drinking optimally.
Maybe will all don’t know this, that’s ok right?
Sorry, “maybe WE all don’t know this, that’s ok right?
A few is three or more years.
In many cases a lot more than that. Chris great show, keep it up.
Have six bottles of 2005 Sansonnet. From what I’ve tasted in the past and my palate, only a select few really improve after 15 years.
Bought quite a bit of 2005 Bordeaux. Will start to really dive in next year.
Really looking forward to the Bordeaux shows, any early hints on your itinerary?
As of now just Margaux,Palmer and Latour officially set. Other that I am looking at Boyd-cantenac,Brane-cantenac,lynch-bages,Kirwan,Le gafeliere, figeac, pape clement, domaine de chavalier, ranzan zegla…..
Trip suggestions: Malescot St Exupery, Pontet Canet Alfred Tesseron always publically invites and he looks like he would really be fun to visit. Like he’d be willing to pull the old stuff. Have the 04 and 05 in the cellar.
Noticed you picked up some Caymus Reserve what year? Would like to pick up a few 07s myself. Probably next purchase.
yeah 2007, $99…amazing.
Pulling the trigger on these before the Boston Wine Expo.
Looking forward to the shows Chris, you’re in one of my wine sweet spots.
Great show but I was a little distracted by the weirdo in the window. Just plain strange.

That guy in the window is pretty funny
