Caymus is still $69.99 here in Georgia, but the 2007 Special Select can be found as low as $99.98.
I didn’t participate with the tasting, but had the wine about six weeks ago at a trade tasting. It definitely needs decanting, as it showed the heat of the alcohol on the back end. I find this usually dissipates with decanting.
While I have at least five other Napa Cabernets that I prefer more for the money, I think Caymus is very consistent in their style and always performs well, especially if you like that big fruit forward style without being over oaked.
Nice job. I like the way you describe the “tasting pyramid”.
I also missed it live but really enjoyed watching it. I am going to open up my caymus tnite and drink while watching again. Looking forward to reporting back.
Chris, I tasted with you live. It was great. Very unique idea and the fact that it is free it makes it even better:)
Great show, I missed it live but look forward to the next one.
Chris, I tasted with you and agree on most of your points. Did not get as much acidity as you talked about. Overall I thought it was a solid wine.
I love this idea, I really enjoyed. It is rare that you can do a wine tasting for free. Looking forward to the next one.
Couldn’t participate live but I enjoyed watching it here. I enjoy your comments on how to taste and appreciate the wines.

Great tasting, I learned a lot. When are you coming to Canada to host a tasting? Have a great weekend.
I love the 4 steps to tasting makes it a lot easier. Can’t wait to do it again.

Great idea, only advice is I would even make the shows even longer. Also the chat area was not working.
Not bad. Try the 2006 Darioush, which is even more solid.
I agree with you about special selection at $99 dollars it is the best deal in Napa
