You have convinced me!! I am going to call my wine store. Thanks a lot.
Beautiful background. great episode, I love your dry humor.
Great show, I am intrigued as well. I never heard of Maritious but going to do some research.
Chris, do you do wine dinners? Also what do you think of Ernie Els wine? Thanks.
I am pretty sure that Ernie Els owns Rust En vrede or has some type of realtionship
Yes Ernie does own Rust en vrede but rust en vrede is much better value Ernie is over priced. I am happy to see s africa getting some respect!
Chris it looks like you are living a tough live right now:) Great stuff keep it up.
Thanks for great shows I can watch these all night. Keep them coming.
Chris- Have you ever been to Fishtail in NYC? Do you know about their “bidding” system for wines? I heard a guy got Pinot Noir Penner-Ash Willamette Valley 2007 for $55 one night.
I had the rust en vrede estate wine last night…awesome, thanks for pointing this out….great blog.
I am a fan of european wine and am actually unhappy that south africa is going towards the high alcohol high sugar content wines. They can’t be complex at those level,
Chris great job this is exactly what the wine community needed.
Chuck, I could not disagree more, alcohol level has nothing to do with complexity. You clearly do no have an understanding about making wine.
Appreciate your site, referred to it by your Dad. Enjoy wine from various vineyards throughout the world. however, I also need to purchase Kosher wines for both my personal use as well as holidays. Would welcome your comments on both Israeli (some wonderful selections) as well asother countries. Will monitor your site on a regular basis.
Ernie doesn’t own Rust en Vrede, and never did and most likely never will. Its been owned by the Engelbrecht family since 1977. They had a joint venture called Engelbrecht Els and thats about it.
